Hmmm…is it a 6×3″ pan? usually, those springform pans have an extra inch of height on them, which can sometimes make the cakes sink. The extra inch of pan conducts more heat, and the cake rises too fast, and then sinks as it cools. Plus, I’d be worried batter would leak out. I’m sorry! I wish you didn’t have to buy a special pan, but I do think it will get good use in your kitchen :)
