Wow. So we had to put our 20-year-old cat to sleep today and I had to bake … it’s become my coping mechanism. I’ve been looking for that perfect six inch vanilla cake, and this was it. Beautiful texture, flavor, just what I wanted—fluffy and moist. I glazed it with a glaze from Odette Williams’ Simple Cake because I didn’t have all the ingredients for your buttercream, but what I wanted was the cake. Extra special were the outer edges. Thank you for sharing your recipe. I’m going to double it next week for a small layer cake when we have a small movie night. So easy, and no need for the stand mixer. I would level it and forego the delicious dome because TWO layers of cake. 🤗
